Job summary

Ocfla is seeking an Advanced Practitioner for our Hand Surgeon service in Fort Myers, FL. The role involves assessing patient health, delivering both acute and chronic care, and collaborating with physicians to manage orthopedic patient needs.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, documenting care, and participating in rounds and after-hours coverage. A PA/NP program completion and current Advanced Practitioner license are required.

Qualifications

• Current Advanced Practitioner license.
• Knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status and determine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provide acute and chronic patient care including histories, physicals, injections, and wound care.
• Triage patient calls and evaluate problems; respond to emergencies including CPR.
• Document patient information and care in medical records; maintain statistics.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians in managing patient care.
• Participate in hospital rounds and after-hours/weekend coverage.
• Consult with other staff as necessary.
