Hand Solderer

The Hand Solderer role is ideal for individuals who enjoy using precision hand tools to solder components such as surface mount and thru-hole.

Job Summary

The Hand Solderer performs various hand soldering tasks on all classes of assemblies, including surface mount, thru-hole, wires, modification, and rework, often using a microscope. Additional responsibilities include:

• Assembling electrical or electromechanical devices using various hardware/tools
• Operating equipment to meet customer requirements
• Identifying defects per workmanship standards and class
• Conducting verification tests as per assembly instructions
• Performing tasks with minimal supervision
• Reworking and repairing assemblies as needed
• Adhering to general team member requirements
• Proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in the work area
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Ability to learn basic component identification
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions
• Perform routine mechanical assembly operations using fixtures and tools
• Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions
• Attention to detail and quality orientation
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• U.S. Person authorization to comply with ITAR/EAR requirements

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of hand soldering techniques
• Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity
• Experience with tools and testing devices
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 Certification (preferred)
