Job description

Hand Fabricator and Polisher (Rochester & Buffalo Location)

The polisher is responsible for polishing stone countertop edges and bottoms, running production lots with coworkers regarding production runs, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for properly polishing stone countertop edges and bottoms to meet customer specifications.
  • Ability to use and understand basic hand-held measuring and power tools.
  • Responsible for the detection and reporting of defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion, following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Performs inspections of machined products and documents findings as appropriate.
  • Completes and maintains paperwork for countertops and materials.
  • Trains on other shop equipment as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Saw/Crane knowledge is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to read and understand CAD drawings.
  • Ability to use basic hand measuring tools.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 100+ pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
