Overview

This is a mid-level position responsible for providing leadership and direction in the attainment of food safety and quality as well as daily/weekly/monthly/yearly operational goals. This position is responsible for the hand-add operatin and providing back-up support to other roles. This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the general plant area, with an emphasis on the hand-add area.

Responsibilities

• Lead all production employees to maintain Food Safety/Quality standards and production goals are met.
• Ensure we follow safety protocols first followed by feed safety/quality and then customer service.
• Maintain all working areas to the food safety and quality standards set forth by regulatory and 3rd party audit bodies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed production records.
• Lead Daily Redzone Huddles.
• Verify Medication logs throughout shift.
• Inspect materials and finished products for accuracy.
• Escalate any deviations or non-conformances to management in a timely manner.
• Feel empowered to halt production in the event of any process deviations identified.
• Escalate and investigate all non-conforming products and/or documentation.
• Audit bins to ensure they are legible, and bins have a cleanout frequency.
• Ensure all ingredient racking storage is properly labeled and clearly identified.
• Ensure that storage bins and containers for ingredients are always labeled.
• Stage and organize ingredients for mixing operators as indicated on mixing records.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of batch records to maintain product traceability.
• Perform general clean-up inside/outside hand-add and finished product area to maintain housekeeping standards.
• Maintain partial bags with clamps and keep organized.
• Train new technicians on procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
• Lead and support hand add techs during daily operations.
• Ensure all equipment is inspected and entered through Redzone.
• Perform bin inventory and ensure bins are properly labeled.
• Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.
• Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
• Assist hands-on in hand add task when needed.
• Operate forklifts to support production.
• Functionally cross-trained in other support roles.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

• Forklift experience preferred.
