Job description

This position supports the maintenance/repair needs of the hotel. Performs work involving multiple crafts, such as plumbing, painting and drywall, carpentry, electrical and water testing.

Responsibilities
  • Plumbing functions:
    • Solder/braze
    • Unplug toilet and drains
    • Change bath and toilet fixtures
  • Drywall and painting functions:
    • Small repairs in walls and ceilings due to water damage.
    • Must blend repairs with existing wall or ceiling fixtures.
    • Minor painting of rooms, doors, trim and ceilings.
  • Carpentry functions:
    • Repair and fabricate chairs, tables, walls, floor, cabinetry, shelves etc.
    • Must understand demonstrate correct use of hand and power tools.
  • Electrical functions:
    • Change outlets, wall switches, light fixtures, appliances, AC/p-tacs and related items.
    • Must be able to trouble shoot, read schematics, and diagnose electrical equipment.
    • Will work with voltages from 24v to 240 volt 3 phase and the correct use of meters and testing meters.
    • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as part of preventive maintenance program.
    • Repairs and maintains commercial laundry equipment.
  • Other duties: Participates on the Safety Committee, Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Operate a personal computer and peripherals.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and supplies used in providing comprehensive building maintenance services.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational school training preferred.
  • Minimum two years experience in electrical, plumbing and carpentry crafts.
