Job summary

Wildhorse Resort & Casino in Pendleton, Oregon is hiring for a guest-focused server role within our dining team. You will provide efficient, personable beverage service and contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Requirements include at least 1 year in food service, cash handling, English communication, and the ability to stand, lift 25 lbs, and obtain a Food Handler Certification and OLCC card within 30 days of employment. Compensation starts at $14.55–$15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, friendly service and guest engagement.

  • Maintain cleanliness and reset tables quickly.
  • Promote safety and report concerns to supervision.
  • Cross-train with Cashier/Hostess and support team.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing efficient and personable service for guests, including beverage orders, service and overall dining experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Promote exemplary guest service standards through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests entering the restaurant and/or seated in the assigned service area.
  • Promptly offer beverage service and other amenities to guests.
  • Provide alcohol service and collect payment.
  • Provide attentive service throughout guest meals graciously serving, and refilling beverages and condiments.
  • Maintain the area for cleanliness by promptly removing dishes, wiping off chairs, tables, and high/booster chairs, and resetting the table in a quick and timely manner.
  • Display and promote a positive attitude and willingness to be a part of the team including assisting others as needed.
  • Keep the Shift Manager and Lead apprised of any customer concerns or positive remarks.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly report all concerns to Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials is handled in a safe manner.
  • Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  • Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
  • Cross-train and provide coverage to Cashier/Hostess as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year of food service experience with at least six (6) months in tableside service in a restaurant setting.
  • Three (3) months of cash handling experience.
  • Needs to frequently stand and/or walk for long periods of time perform repetitive motions with arms, elbows, wrists, hands, and fingers; bend, lift, and maneuver 25 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills - able to read, verbally able to provide instruction, respond to questions in English, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Possess or obtain a Food Handler Certification and an OLCC card within 30 days of employment, with permit application submitted by first day of employment.
  • Requires a criminal history background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
