Job summary

Fort Zumwalt School District is seeking a Hall Monitor for South High. The substitute position requires a minimum of 36 college credit hours and either a Missouri Substitute Certificate or a Missouri teaching certificate.

Responsibilities include hall supervision, assisting with deliveries, passes, and restroom monitoring, with occasional classroom coverage when substitutes are low. The job involves significant walking and interaction with students and staff; familiarity with intercom/walkie

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 36 college credit hours and have or obtain a Missouri Substitute Certificate (unless a teaching certificate is already held)
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance and Family Care Safety Registry required
• Missouri State Teaching Certificate or Missouri Substitute Certificate required

Responsibilities

• Hall monitors are at the middle school and high school buildings only.
• Hall monitors help keep our halls safe with supervision, door and stairwell checks, and also assist with deliveries, running hall passes & monitoring restrooms.
• Occasionally, we escort students to classrooms or assist with classroom coverage if subs are low.
• A lot of walking is required.
• Be prepared to step into a classroom as a substitute teacher or provide supervision as needed.
• Use intercom and walkie talkie systems; coordinate with the SRO and administration for assistance.

Responsibilities

Hall monitors are at the middle school and high school buildings only.

Hall monitors help keep our halls safe with supervision, door and stairwell checks, and also assist with deliveries, running hall passes & monitoring restrooms, Hall monitors also help build rapport with students and staff and hold safety posts at the beginning of the day and during lunches to ensure students are where they are supposed to be. Occasionally, we also have hall monitors assist with escorting students to their classrooms or may be asked to assist with classroom coverage if subs are low that day.

The job requires a lot of walking.

• Be prepared and willing to step into a classroom as a substitute teacher or to provide supervision as needed.
• Understand how to use the intercom and walkie talkie systems in the building.
• Be familiar with the SRO (School Resource Officer) in the building and contact them and/or the administration if you need assistance.

Other Functions

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Education: Minimum 36 credit hours.
