History Colorado in Monte Vista is seeking an AmeriCorps Reduced Half Time Member to support education programming for K-12 students under the Education Coordinator. The role focuses on Hands-On History, field trips, and student-focused experiences with flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

The position runs January 4, 2027 to August 20, 2027, averaging 20–25 hours weekly, and is hosted at the History Colorado museum site in Monte Vista.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
• Ability to pass criminal history checks.
• Strong interest in history, education, or a related field.
• Resume and Cover letter required.
• Preferred early childhood professional credential level II or higher; train if not met.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Hands-On History programming tailored to cultural relevance and academic standards.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to expand program reach and impact.
• Assist with marketing and promotion of Hands-On History.
• Build community partnerships and provide information to the Hands-On History team.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to program improvements.
• Support History Colorado community engagement projects as needed.
