Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Functional Analyst in Charlotte, NC to serve as the primary liaison among application teams, business stakeholders, platform engineering, production support, and product management. You will translate data integration needs into clear functional requirements and coordinate delivery from intake through implementation and handoff.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, product analysis, data management, or technology delivery.
• Gather requirements, create BRDs, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data integration, data movement, data warehousing, and relational databases.
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, backlog management, and SDLC practices.
• Coordinate testing, defect management, release readiness, and implementation activities.

Location: Onsite 3 days a wk; Hybrid – Office location is Charlotte NC

Required Pay Scale: $50-55hr W2

The Functional Analyst serves as the primary liaison among application teams, business stakeholders, platform engineering, production support, and product management. The analyst translates data integration needs into clear functional requirements and coordinates delivery from intake through implementation and operational handoff.

This role leads application onboarding, requirements analysis, backlog readiness, testing coordination, release planning, stakeholder communication, and production issue follow-up. The successful candidate combines strong functional analysis skills with practical knowledge of enterprise data integration, data warehousing, and technology delivery in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical & business systems and software support for modification, implementation, or conversion of business systems.
• Translates business needs into technical requirements and ensures all systems support and conform to business needs and specifications.
• Acts as liaison between business unit and software/hardware developers and vendors.
• Aware of business or function for which application or system is designed.
• Has the required domain knowledge, as applicable or brings other domain knowledge that improves the overall function of the business to team interface.
• Constantly looks for ways to improve the interaction with the business and the quality and speed of the requirements gathering and requirements building.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, product analysis, data management, or technology delivery.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and producing business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data integration, data movement, data warehousing, and relational database concepts.
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, backlog management, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience coordinating testing, defect management, release readiness, and implementation activities.Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive decisions, surface risks, and maintain clear ownership and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate complex data and technology topics in business-friendly language.

Experience supporting data migration, data integration, or data platform projects

• Hadoop exposure is highly preferred and will move candidates to the top of the shortlist
• Experience documenting requirements, process flows, data mappings, and business rules

Strong requirements and governance experience
