Job summary

Stem Xpert is looking for a Big Data/Hadoop Developer for a 3-6 month contract, primarily based in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate must have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in Hadoop development and be skilled in distributed computing, SQL concepts, and associated technologies like Hive and HBase. Responsibilities include supporting large data sets, delivering quality build deliverables, and peer reviews.

The position requires strong technical skills, and preference will be given to local candidates.

Position: Big Data/Hadoop Developer

Job Location: Alpharetta, GA

Duration: 3-6 Months Contract + Extensions (Total # Positions: 1)

Interview: Phone + Face-to-Face (or Direct FTF) interview. Skype is option only for Non-Locals.

Hiring Manager will give first preference to local candidates. Candidates must provide manager details with whom he/she worked and reported.

Yrs of Experience: Minimum 8+ (Hands‑on Hadoop development experience is a must).

Qualifications and Responsibilities

• Experienced Hadoop developer skilled in distributed, parallel, cloud computing, SQL concepts, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Java Mapred, R, Shell, map‑reduce.
• Support large data sets (Hadoop, HDFS, etc.) and HBase/NoSQL.
• Responsible for build deliverables (detailed design, coding, unit testing) and quality and peer reviews for all development.
