Description

The Entry-Level Disassembly Technician assists in vehicle repair by disassembling damaged vehicles and documenting necessary repairs. This position is essential in preparing vehicles for repair, ensuring accuracy in parts ordering, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Disassembly:
  • According to repair plans, remove damaged vehicle parts, including bumpers, fenders, grilles, and panels.
  • Identify additional damages or hidden issues that may not be visible during initial estimates.
Documentation:
  • Tag and organize all removed parts for repair or replacement.
  • Document all findings from the disassembly process to update repair estimates accurately.
Collaboration:
  • Communicate with estimators, parts personnel, and technicians to ensure all necessary parts are ordered, and repairs are on track.
  • Work closely with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure timely vehicle repairs.
Safety and Cleanliness:
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area by adhering to collision center safety protocols.
  • Properly dispose of any hazardous materials following company and regulatory guidelines.
Learning and Development:
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and better understand collision repair processes.
  • Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and repair techniques.

Qualifications:

Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with tools commonly used in automotive repair.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Work Environment:

The Entry-Level Disassembly Technician will work in a fast-paced collision center environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and automotive chemicals. Safety equipment will be provided, and the technician must wear it as required.

Requirements:
