Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a HACCP Tech to uphold food safety and quality in a fast-paced plant, focusing on inspections, documentation, and timely corrective actions.

The role supports adherence to safety protocols on the 2nd shift with physical requirements, basic math, and accuracy in reporting. A HS diploma or GED and relevant QA experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in food manufacturing or related QA experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Summary

As a HACCP Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
• Documenting and calculating results accurately.
• Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
• Handling additional assignments as requested.

Working Conditions

• Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
• Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
• Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
• Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
• Good problem identification and problem‑solving skills.
• Math and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
• Must function well under stress.
• Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
• Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be able to work in wet environment
• Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
• Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
• Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
