Position Title: Grounds Maintenance Equipment Operator

Reports To: Golf Maintenance Superintendent

Supervises: N/A

Summary of Position

The Grounds Maintenance Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment used for grounds upkeep, including lawns, landscaping, and outdoor facilities. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient use of machinery such as mowers, tractors, and loaders, while performing general groundskeeping tasks.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and report issues.
  • Maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
  • Assist with planting, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, and watering.
  • Clean outdoor areas and dispose of debris.
  • Apply treatments as directed.
  • Perform snow removal and seasonal clean-up tasks.
  • Set up and break down outdoor areas for events.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE.
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and storage.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and keep logs.
  • Assist with ordering supplies and coordinate with team members.
  • Report project and equipment status to supervisors.
  • Interact courteously with staff, guests, and visitors.
  1. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  1. Education and/or Experience Requirements

Requires 1-3 years of grounds maintenance or related experience, operating equipment, understanding landscaping, and possessing a valid driver’s license. Certification in heavy equipment operation or pesticide application is a plus. Must reflect IMGR&C values and work collaboratively.

  1. Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for extended periods.

  1. Work Environment

Work is performed in a loud environment, with potential exposure to second-hand smoke, biohazards, and hostile guest situations. May involve high-stress situations.
