Program Summary

Summer School for incoming grade 9 students will focus on helping students bridge from middle school to high school to have a successful high school experience. All students will be expected to attend daily.

Schedule

• Summer school calendar: 4 days/week: July 13, 2026 - July 30, 2026
• Daily hours: 8:30 - 12:00 pm (additional 30 minutes/day for planning = 4 work hrs/day)

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons using high-yield teaching strategies.
• Conduct daily progress monitoring on individual students to track progress over time. Contact parents with updates, as needed, and respond to parent questions and concerns in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate

Preferred Experience

• Experience planning and facilitating differentiated small group instruction
• Training in Trauma-Informed practices
• Training in culturally responsive teaching practices

Supervisory Responsibilities

Create a safe learning environment where all students are supervised in all school spaces.
