ITnova is seeking an experienced H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flight Line - CDI) to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. In this role, you will perform flight line aircraft maintenance while serving as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), ensuring maintenance activities meet established quality, safety, and operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years rotary-wing aviation experience.
  • Experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft.
  • Ability to meet government and company licensing or qualification requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check and CAC.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Ability to read/interpret complex engineering drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) during the contract period.
  • Perform routine aircraft maintenance and preventive inspections.
  • Inspect aircraft systems and subsystems including avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament.
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Assist with PQDRs and perform troubleshooting, repair, and preservation of aircraft.

Job description

ITnova is seeking an experienced H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flight Line - CDI) to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. In this role, you will perform flight line aircraft maintenance while serving as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), ensuring maintenance activities meet established quality, safety, and operational standards. Responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting and repairing aircraft systems, performing quality inspections throughout the maintenance process, and providing technical guidance to maintenance personnel. The ideal candidate has strong rotary-wing aircraft maintenance experience, a thorough understanding of flight line operations and aircraft systems, and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and mission-ready aircraft support in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) from the primary discipline of flight line MOS 6114/6174 during the contract period.
  • Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations, as required, and maintains familiarity with related support systems.
  • Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems, including avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament systems, as required by functional assignment.
  • Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment, tools, vehicles, and support equipment used in aircraft maintenance.
  • Performs initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
  • Provides technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality workmanship and flight line services.
  • Assists in preparation, processing, and response to Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs), as required.
  • Performs troubleshooting, repair, modification, corrosion control, and preservation of aircraft and aircraft subsystems, including fuel, oil, and hydraulic systems.
  • Performs functional checks, inspections, and troubleshooting, as required and trained.
  • Completes and maintains aircraft forms and records using OOMA.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years rotary-wing aviation experience.
  • Prior experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft.
  • Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
  • Must demonstrate operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
  • Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
  • Must be able to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
  • Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
  • Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
  • If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
  • If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
  • If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Position is contingent upon award.
