Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in the Gynecology Division to provide gynecology-focused care and gynecologic surgery, while contributing to resident education and faculty practice.

The successful candidate will practice mainly at UTMB’s Main Campus on Galveston Island and the UTMB Clear Lake Campus, with potential clinic time at off-island locations. This is a unique, full-scope academic role within a nationally recognized health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Texas medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG or equivalent).
• Federally-issued DEA License.
• Pass ABOG qualifying examination and sit for certifying examination within 1–3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, with emphasis on gynecology and gynecologic surgery.
• Staff resident gynecology services and actively participate in faculty practice.
• Collaborate with other faculty to support clinical, educational, and academic missions.
• Deliver patient-centered, high-quality care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Contribute to teaching and mentorship of medical students and residents.
