Job summary

U.S. Air Force at Maxwell AFB, AL seeks an Officer – Specialty Gynecologic Surgeon and Obstetrician to deliver comprehensive women’s health care, including prenatal and postnatal services and surgical management.

You will oversee nursing and perioperative care, lead OB/GYN services, and provide care to Airmen and their families in a military setting. A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine is required, with Air Force officer training options available.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathic medicine

Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal and postnatal care and perform deliveries in maternity cases
• Diagnose and treat disorders of the female reproductive system
• Direct nurses in procedures or preoperative and postoperative care
• Treat patients suffering from surgical shock, postoperative hemorrhages and other complications
• Manages obstetrical and gynecological services
• Instruct intern and student residents in OB/GYN procedures
