Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center in Eugene, OR seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient oncology clinic team. You will work closely with providers to guide patients through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

This full-time RN role offers a 1.0 FTE with a 4x10 hour shift option, ongoing oncology education, and benefits including medical/dental/vision, life insurance, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• RN with an unencumbered license; BSN preferred.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, chemotherapy, and supportive resources.
• Guide patients through the continuum of cancer care including planning and coordination.
• Provide pre- and post-operative education and support.
• Offer psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families.
• Coordinate care with providers and the interdisciplinary team.
• Lead patient care huddles and maintain thorough clinical documentation.
• Provide nursing coverage for breast clinic as needed.
• Participate in ongoing oncology nursing trainings and professional development.
• Mentor Medical Assistants and support staff.
