A leading healthcare organization seeks a part-time Physician Assistant for the Gynecology division. The role involves patient assessments, direct care, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience, preferably in Women's Health, to provide high-quality healthcare services.
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. The PA will be working with the Gynecology division at FISH Center for Women's Health at 850 Boylston St in Chestnut Hill. This is a part-time 30-hour position working in the ambulatory setting.
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)
-Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to gynecologic patients in the ambulatory setting
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
-Discusses patient data with other physicians and professionals as appropriate in a multidisciplinary setting and demonstrates professional collaborative and consultative relationships with other providers.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
-Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including progress notes, procedure notes, and result notes
-May perform procedures such as Nexplanon, IUD, vulvar biopsies and endometrial biopsies after appropriate training
-Performs pap smears and counsels on contraception
-Supportsattending physicians for in-basket mangement and patient panels within the clinic as needed
-Participates in departmental and organizational programs and education as appropriate and attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
-Complies with all policies and standards
-Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the department/division
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings
Ability to maintain quality control standards
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
Work Experience
1-2 years Experience as a physician assistant (Women's Health experience preferred)
