Job summary

Duke Health's Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC seeks a Registered Nurse (GYN Oncology) to provide compassionate, guideline-based care on a PRN schedule. You will plan, document and coordinate nursing care, mentor teammates, and participate in performance improvement activities. BSN or higher required; NC license within 90 days; BLS.

Shifts are primarily Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with PRN options; a focus on oncology care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• All RNs without a BSN must enroll in BSN within 2 years and complete within 7 years.
• NC nursing license must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care per orders and policies.
• Use nursing judgment to tailor the care plan to patient needs.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed/unlicensed staff.
• Assist in delivery of care and act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
• Monitor environment and equipment, initiate corrective actions.
• Participate in professional development and continued learning.
• Act as preceptor and support development of staff and learners.
• Identify clinical or operational improvement opportunities and participate in improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
