Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in GYN Oncology in Manhattan to provide comprehensive nursing care, diagnostics, and prescriptive measures within a collaborative practice agreement. Qualifications

• To qualify you must have:
• Licensure: Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York and Registration as Nurse Practitioner in New York.
• Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Certification required (as soon as feasible following graduation from NP graduate program) by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association..
• Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS, Nurse Practitioner-NYS, Basic Life Support Cert

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes care to meet patient needs per protocols.
• Monitors and trends the cost effectiveness of the position and performance indicators.
• Assists in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols.
• Works collaboratively with nursing and other disciplines on clinical studies.
• Uses evidence-based literature to advise and support practice changes.
• Participates in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes for quality and performance.
• Serves as a clinical expert and resource for education of peers and health professionals.
• Maintains current expertise and promotes professional growth.
• Considers patient age and cultural factors in all care.
• Prescribes equipment, devices, therapy, and home health services per protocol.
• Prescribes in-patient and discharge medications per NYS law (including DEA where applicable).
• Collaborates with attending physician and others to maximize patient/family outcomes.
• Orders laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies per protocol and follows abnormal findings.
• Performs health history, physical examination and psychosocial assessment.
• Works as a respectful team member.
• Participates in activities related to nursing standards and regulations.
• Facilitates continuity of care across services.
• Provides consultation to nursing staff on regimens.
• Collaborates with leadership to maintain timely communication with family and staff.
• Develops and revises interdisciplinary standards and patient education materials.
