Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas Presbyterian is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) for the Gyn Oncology department. This full-time, Monday–Friday role runs 8:30 am–5:00 pm with no weekends, calls, or major holidays.

The RN will provide professional nursing care, adhere to standards, and support compliance with US Oncology programs, while collaborating with the care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Level II requires minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology preferred.
  • Level Senior requires minimum five (5) years nursing experience, with at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and record information in the patient chart.
  • Schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in locating community resources.
  • Engage in inter-professional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Dallas Presbyterian location in the Gyn Onc department. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 am‑5 pm) with no weekends, calls or major holidays.

What Does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) Do?

Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards. The RN recognizes physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, participates in quality initiatives, and supports compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
