Job summary

Park District of Highland Park is seeking a part-time, year-round Pre-Team/Team Gymnastics Coach at West Ridge Community Center in Highland Park, IL. The role pays $20.00–$30.00 per hour and offers great benefits as you develop athletes from pre-team to team level in a brand-new gym.

Evening hours Mon-Thurs with occasional weekend hours during meets (January–April); experience with gymnastics is required. Join a supportive Park District that offers health membership and community for families.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with young children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct gymnastics lessons in accordance with PDHP's gymnastics curriculum.
• Teach skills essential to the development and growth of gymnasts' abilities and progress.
• Understand skill levels and teach in a progressive and safe manner.
• Attend all informational staff meetings.
• Possess knowledge of gymnastics skills and progressions and proper apparatus execution.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progress reports as required
• Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to participant and facility emergencies, including completion of accident/incident or minor injury log.
• Follow all Park District policies and procedures.
• Performs other Park District-related duties as assigned.

Education

We have an immediate opening for a part-time, year-round Pre-Team/Team Gymnastics Coach. The position pays $20.00 – $30.00 hourly depending upon qualifications and offers great benefits. As the Pre-Team/Team Coach, you will train and develop athletes progressing from pre-team through team level in our brand-new, 10,000 square-foot gym build for gymnastics, and have the opportunity to help shape a program from the ground up. Additional recreational gymnastics classes may be taught. Must have some gymnastics experience. Occasional weekend hours are required during meet season (January-April). Evening hours required Mon-Thurs.
