Job description

The Little Gym of Virginia Beach is now hiring a highly energetic and motivated teacher/instructor to join our amazing children’s fitness facility to teach gymnastics to children ranging in ages from 4 mos.-12 yrs old. The teacher/instructor must be great with kids and must be able to assist children with building skills and relationships in this unique fitness environment. The Little Gym teacher/Instructors have the flexibility to create their own gym class schedule between the days/hours of Monday-Sunday 8:30am-8:30pm. PAID TRAINING PROVIDED! The Little Gym sets the standard for progressive motor-skill development by providing children with a foundation of confidence through our unique non-competitive, gymnastics-based programs. Our Parent/Child, Pre-K, and Grade School gymnastics classes, as well as our Sports Skills programs, encourage children to develop at their own pace.

Responsibilities:

1. Interact with children and parents on a daily basis
2. Teach exceptional gymnastics classes
3. Provide assistance to other instructors and staff at all levels on an as needed basis
4. Conduct administrative tasks such as phone calls, lesson plans, class announcements, etc. on a daily/weekly basis
5. Work in a committed staff setting where teamwork and helping one another is a priority
6. Maintain a safe, clean, and fun environment

Minimum Requirements:

6. Ability to be creative, imaginative and comfortable being engaged with the children in class
7. Background in fitness (gymnastics, sports, dance, cheer, exercise science, early childhood development or related field)
8. Experience working with children (examples include gymnastics instructor, preschool teacher or assistant, daycare, sports camps or similar experience)
9. Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include late afternoon/evenings and weekends

As Instructors at The Little Gym, your primary responsibility will be to teach Children's gymnastics classes based on our proven curriculum and methodology. You will be provided a comprehensive training plan and will be working with a dynamic team of teachers who are committed to providing outstanding client satisfaction.
