Job summary

Days/Hours

• Monday - Friday 4:30PM - 8:30 PM
• Saturday 9:00AM - 1:00 PM

Flexible schedule. We are looking for coaches with experience coaching girls' and/or boys' gymnastics.

Responsibilities

1. Plan, organize, and instruct gymnastics programs for participants of all skill levels.
2. Design, prepare, and implement drills for practices and training sessions.
3. Monitor attendance, ensure safety, and enforce facility policies.
4. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with participants and parents.
5. Respond to emergencies and maintain accurate incident reports.
6. Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
7. Substitute for other coaches and possibly lead training sessions or organize children's parties.
8. Perform spotting of gymnasts as needed.

Qualifications

• One season of experience as a participant or coach in gymnastics.
• Minimum of two years coaching experience at a competitive level or one year as a City of Thornton Gymnastics Instructor II.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Valid CARA or USAG safety certification or ability to obtain within one year.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and goals of the city and department.
• Strong coaching and instructional skills.
• Effective communication and ability to react quickly in emergencies.
• Physical ability to perform gymnastic spotting and handle physical demands of the role.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work weekends and holidays, and travel to various locations as needed. Background checks and drug testing required.
