Job description

The Youth Gymnastics Coach position requires more than just technical gymnastics skills. The ideal candidate must love working with children and possess patience. Responsibilities include working with boys and girls aged 6 to 12 of varying skill levels, promoting confidence and physical development in a safe, fun environment. The role involves weekend and/or evening hours, starting with 1 to 2 hours weekly. Coaches and immediate family members receive gym membership benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver basic gymnastics instruction, including setting up and ensuring safety of the gym area.
  2. Demonstrate skills, develop lesson plans, and train new instructors.
  3. Administer first aid when necessary.
  4. Maintain good communication with parents, staff, and the public.
  5. Lift equipment up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, and tumbling, indoors and outdoors.
Member Experience:

  • Conduct group and private training sessions safely and effectively.
  • Keep training spaces organized and presentable.
  • Respond professionally to guest, member, and staff inquiries.
Required Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of gymnastic coaching experience.
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Energetic, positive attitude, organized, reliable, and prepared.
  • Patience and kindness, focused on fun and safety.
  • Availability for classes in the afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.
  • Knowledge of private training techniques and gymnastic equipment operation.
  • Understanding of company policies and safety procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Certifications/Educational Level:
  • Current CPR/AED certification or in progress.
  • Certification from a recognized organization or in progress.
