POSITION TITLE: Facility Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

COMPENSATION: $19.00 - $25.00 an hour DOE

PURPOSE

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems within the facility. They ensure health, safety, and operational procedures are followed to enhance the member experience and maintain smooth facility operations.

The ideal candidate is engaging, diligent, organized, results-driven, and excellent in customer service and collaboration.

DELIVERABLES

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Communication: Provide daily verbal updates to the General Manager, document work performed, and seek feedback on work quality and maintenance needs.
• Scheduling & Planning: Collaborate with the General Manager to schedule, deploy, and verify completion of maintenance tasks.
• Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test equipment, systems, and components for proper functioning.
• Safety: Ensure safety of members, staff, and assets through inspections, club walks, and communication with leadership.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance using the CMMS system.
• Repairs: Repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Work Orders: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory; update work orders daily in the CMMS system.
• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and test building systems and equipment for optimal performance.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain cardio, weight, and general workout equipment; assemble new equipment; refurbish equipment as needed.
• Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work with management, staff, contractors, and vendors.
• General Upkeep: Perform tasks such as patching, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
