Job summary

New York Sports Club in the Northeast is seeking Field Equipment Technicians to service physical plant equipment across multiple club locations. You will repair plumbing, lighting, walls, and fitness equipment while coordinating with club management and staff.

You will follow a daily route, perform preventative maintenance, document work via email, attend required trainings, and contribute to a safe, welcoming member experience through reliable maintenance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Some hands-on experience with hand tools is necessary.
• Experience working in the gym industry or automotive industry preferred.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble cardio and strength machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Ability to proficiently use POS and membership system and timekeeping software.
• Ability to complete light plumbing and electrical work as well as wall patching and painting.
• AED/CPR certified, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continuously modeling and promoting the NYSC mission, values, and integrity.
• Providing a legendary member experience.
• Reviewing all NYSC documents including policies and procedures.
• Working closely with club staff to deliver results on repairs.
• Communicating effectively with management via e-mail.
• Performing club walkthroughs on each visit.
• Collaborating with management on larger issues.
• Providing information for renovations or maintenance needs.
• Communicating with managers, members and guests.
• Pursuing new skills with supervision and training.
• Attending training sessions to expand skill sets.
• Completing preventative maintenance during downtime.
• Adhering to a ticket system for repairs and progress tracking.
• Sending daily route plans and daily repair recaps.
• Conducting site walkthroughs with General Manager per visit.
• Handling additional duties as assigned.
