We love what we do!

Why? Well, there’s a lot to be proud of! Q-Centrix is a leading healthcare information solutions provider. More specifically, we’re laser-focused on helping hospitals unlock the value of their clinical data to improve patient care. We do this, thanks in part, to our collaborative team of 1,000+ clinical data experts, problem-solvers, and tech enthusiasts.

Job Description

As the healthcare industry shifts to value-based care, quality data abstraction has become critical in identifying positive, patient outcomes. In fact, medical record abstraction is the preferred data collection method for clinical research, quality improvement, performance measurement, disease surveillance, and other secondary data uses. Our Quality Information Specialists use Q-Centrix proprietary technology to contribute to healthcare’s most exciting advancements.

We believe this is an exceptional opportunity to engage in meaningful work while being part of a smart, collaborative, and fun-loving team in a growing industry.

Quality Information Specialists deliver quality solutions to hospital partners across the country through data abstraction and clinical quality data management. They approach each hospital engagement as an opportunity to apply clinical and data recognition expertise with precision to improve patient outcomes and research.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Applying specialized knowledge to hospital partners: categorizing, coding, summarizing, interpreting, and calculating registry/case information from nuanced, patient medical records.
  • Ensuring quality submission of all data in specified registries or measure data repositories, maintaining high accuracy.
  • Prioritizing, organizing, and meeting tight deadlines for multiple tasks; managing expectations and proposing solutions.
  • Navigating technical systems: electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Contributing to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and process improvements.
  • Staying updated on mandated regulatory/publicly reported data requirements.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participating in a 6-month on-the-job training in the Q-Centrix Institute (QCI) before joining client teams.

Ideal candidate qualifications:

  • Experience in emergency room care, bedside care, medical scribing and coding/billing, or quality information systems.
  • Exposure to multiple EMRs and clinical databases.
  • Enjoyment of working with data, fact-finding, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and navigating search engines.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and attention to detail skills.
  • Technical savvy and eagerness to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to changing timelines and requirements.
  • Commitment to maintaining PHI confidentiality.

Rewards and Benefits:

We offer a purpose-driven environment focused on safer, quality healthcare, with competitive pay ($23.00 - $27.00/hr), flexible remote work, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) with match, paid professional development, and a supportive community.

Our inclusive culture values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity employment. We support accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
