Applicants must pass a series of tests and interviews prior to selection as employees. Once selected, individuals must complete academy requirements, and if successful, continue to field training assisted by veteran officers (PO Master or Corporals). This job requires a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
Salary:
$53,772 with possible incentives up to:
$55,385 (includes 3% pay incentive for an Associate's degree)
$56,998 (includes 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree)
**$5,300 hiring incentive for new hires**
** 5% night shift differential **
The grade for this position is PL213.

About the Police DepartmentThe Gwinnett County Police Department is the second largest police agency in Georgia with more than 1,200 sworn and civilian employees.
The department has been continuously accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies since1993 and holds the prestigious Tri-Arc certification through CALEA.
The department provides comprehensive law enforcement services to a population of more than a million residents across 437 square miles in the northeastern part of metro Atlanta.
