The Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS) Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing targeted support and evidence-based interventions to youth and adults facing behavioral, emotional, academic, or social challenges through the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (MONSE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify behavioral, emotional, social, and environmental needs of GVRS participants.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans.
• Provide direct one-on-one and group interventions using evidence-based practices.
• Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, case managers, and community providers.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and restorative practices when appropriate.
• Track and document progress, maintaining accurate and timely case notes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
• Connect participants to community resources and supportive services.
• Provide advocacy support within school, court, community, or social service systems.
