What you can expect as a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star:

The main focus will be leading a team of technicians to deliver high-quality, timely results. Successful candidates will be analytical, inquisitive, and possess strong problem-solving skills with a technical orientation. Your role involves utilizing manpower effectively and managing project flow.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the team to complete tasks, using good judgment and knowing when to involve management
  • Ensuring smooth turnover between shifts
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time
  • Training and mentoring technicians
  • Supervising daily workload
  • Working independently and leading multiple projects, ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Performing mechanical functions on aircraft, including removal, installation, repair, and sheet metal work
  • Troubleshooting and evaluating aircraft systems
  • Inspecting and evaluating aircraft and components
  • Conducting aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing as needed
  • Maintaining shop facilities, equipment, and tooling
  • Collaborating with customers on project management, pricing, and support
  • Communicating effectively in English
  • Performing other duties as assigned
