Job summary

Silver Air, LLC is seeking an experienced Gulfstream G650 Captain based in Santa Ana to lead international and domestic travel for a high-value client base. The role demands sharp, disciplined flight operations and a polished professional image in both cockpit and client interactions.

The successful candidate will hold a G650 type rating with strong GV experience, excellent safety record, CANPASS eligibility, and a flexible, service-focused approach to multi-pilot, international missions.

Qualifications

• Total time in all aircraft: 3500 hours; PIC: 3000 hours.
• Multi-engine time: 3000 hours; PIC: 2000 hours.
• Turbine time: 1750 hours preferred.
• GV/GV1 type rating required; other type rating OK.
• First Class Medical Certificate required.
• CANPASS authorization for Canada travel considered.
• Part 135 experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, compliant operation of the aircraft for owner travel and selective charter.
• Review aircraft maintenance status to ensure airworthiness.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections per Aircraft Flight Manual.
• Assess weather and route considerations including alternates.
• Ensure operations comply with Silver Air policies and FAA regulations.
• Complete trip paperwork accurately and on time.

Description

We're seeking an accomplished Captain to join a growing flight department supporting one of our valued legacy clients, whose G550 is transitioning to a new G650 in the near future. This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established account with a highly turnkey, low-maintenance principal who values discretion, precision, and a polished, professional cabin experience over flash.

The ideal candidate brings a strong record of international operations and is comfortable supporting a mix of high-value selective charter to exotic destinations alongside primarily domestic owner travel. This role calls for a pilot who is sharp, disciplined, and performance-driven — someone who takes pride in operating at the top of their game, both in the cockpit and in how they carry themselves.

Requirements:

• Current GVI (G650) type rating required
• GV (G550) type rating strongly preferred
• Significant international PIC experience
• Proven track record of safe, professional operations at the highest service standard
• A collaborative, team-first mindset with a drive for excellence in every phase of flight

The Captain will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and professional operation of the aircraft, ensuring every flight - whether owner travel or selective charter - is conducted to the highest standard of safety and service.

What you'll be doing:

• Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
• Conducting proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
• Completing check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airports to be used, including alternate airports.
• Ensuring the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of Silver Air and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Ensuring the safety of all passengers, aircraft, and crew.
• Accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.

To do well in this role, you'll need:

• Total time in all aircraft = 3500 hours/3000 hours as PIC.
• Multi-engine time = 3000 hours/2000 hours as PIC.
• Total Turbine time = 1750 hours preferred.
• Total time in airplane type = 200 hours/100 hours as PIC.
• Type rated on GV and GV!. Or comparable aircraft.
• Valid First Class Medical Certificate. This is required.
• Previous Part 135 experience. This is preferred, but not required.
• Compliant with ICAO Annex I - 2.1.1.0. As it pertains to aircraft engaged in international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
• CANPASS authorization. You'll need the ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada as a commercial pilot.
• Strong customer service skills. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) will need to be demonstrated with all levels of employees and clients. Communication must always be delivered with a superior level of professionalism.
• High level of detail. You'll need to be highly organized with the ability to thrive in changing environments and the flexibility for frequently changing priorities.
• Excellent time management skills. You'll need to be able to work on an on-call basis, with the ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task. Silver Air is a 24/7 organization, so this role requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
• Strong people skills. You'll need to be a team player who can provide valued contributions to our business and clients.
