Job summary

Draper seeks a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Mission Analyst in Cambridge, MA to join the Hypersonic and Advanced Weapons group. You will analyze performance of next-gen weapon concepts for warfighter utility and advise on GNC subsystem design within multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in systems analysis, familiarity with MBSE tools like SysML and MATLAB/Simulink, and the ability to translate requirements into technical decisions while contributing to reports

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems analysis or related field.
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as SysML; knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience integrating descriptive modeling tools with other simulation tools.

Job Description Summary

The Hypersonic and Advanced Weapons group at Draper is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Mission Analyst to work within multi-disciplinary teams to analyze performance of next-generation weapon system concepts for the war fighter and assess overall utility in complex mission scenarios. This role focuses on design of enabling GNC subsystem technology and participation in R&D of new US military capabilities in strategic and tactical mission domains.

Ideal candidate attributes:

  • Systems analyst or research engineer with experience in defense/missile applications.
  • Desire to shape/innovate solutions to complex problems of national importance.
  • Foundational understanding of mission design, mission analysis, or operational analysis.
  • Ability to independently propose, plan, and lead analysis efforts.
  • Strong communication skills for briefing complex system performance analyses.
  • Motivated to support the maintenance of national strategic deterrence.
  • System- and mission-level thinking; focus on technology that solves the problem, not the problem that fits the technology.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis approaches for a particular problem and independently execute assignments.
  • Independently execute system engineering lifecycle assignments, including concept and architecture design, integration, testing, and operation.
  • Contribute high-quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.
  • Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicate them to project leadership.
  • Contribute to updates of best practices and processes to reflect current tools and procedures.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment including stakeholders and external partners.
  • Translate requirements into technical and architectural decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or other relevant Engineering field. Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000.00 - $156,000.00.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role. The compensation details listed reflect base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits.
