  • Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:
  • Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
  • Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations
  • Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python
  • Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.
  • An Interim Secret Clearance is needed to start, therefore you must be a US Citizen.

Job Description

You will be the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer for our Missiles and Fire Control team in Orlando, FL. Our team is responsible for designing, integrating, and testing innovative GNC solutions for missile and fire control products, and this role will contribute to the development of complex algorithm solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

As the GNC Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing GNC, tracking, and servo control algorithm solutions, as well as developing and validating complex models and simulations. You will work with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Designing, integrating, and testing GNC algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products
  • Developing and validating complex models and simulations, such as 6-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations
  • Evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments
  • Supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
  • Collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $97,100 - $171,235. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
