Job summary

The State of South Carolina seeks a qualified school counselor to collaborate with school administrators and staff to implement a comprehensive guidance program. You will lead guidance curriculum integration and coordinate developmentally appropriate group activities to support student growth in academics, careers, and personal/social development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in guidance/counseling or related field.
• Licensure by the SC Department of Education in Guidance (Elem or Sec) or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in teaching or counseling; familiarity with sensory-impaired contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, in collaboration with school administrators and supervising director, the comprehensive school counseling program work plan.
• Provide leadership in integrating guidance curriculum standards with staff and school-wide initiatives.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate group activities to meet student needs and school goals.
• Assist students individually or in groups with academic, career, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.
