The Smithsonian National Zoo is seeking an Assistant Manager for Guest Services to lead the daily operation of the Guest Services team, coaching staff and ensuring outstanding customer service. As an ambassador for the Zoo, you will foster a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment for guests of all ages while creating lasting memories.

Based in Washington, DC, this full-time Trust Fund position requires a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3–5 years of management experience in guest-service environments preferred.
• Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong leadership abilities.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing workforce and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Guest Services Associates.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and daily operations to ensure outstanding guest service.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve guest concerns effectively.
