Job summary

Kootenai Health in Idaho is seeking a Hospitality Services team member to welcome patients, families, and visitors, delivering exceptional service in all waiting areas. This full-time, variable shift role requires weekend availability and up to 72 hours per pay period.

You will screen entrants, assist guests, and coordinate with staff to meet patient needs with professionalism. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 3 years of related experience (5 preferred), and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ hospitality, education, retail, public service, or related experience required.
  • 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to maintain complete confidentiality and sophistication in social and professional settings.
  • MOAB training, or must acquire within 6 months of employment, required.
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides an exceptional patient and guest experience by delivering a high level of service to every patient and visitor during every encounter.
  • Protects the safety of the organization and entrances by exercising independent judgment when screening those entering.
  • Acts as a liaison between patients, guests, staff, and providers to ensure facilitation of requests with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Solves problems of limited complexity and refers more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Identifies possible crisis/emergency situations and directs actions appropriately.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.

Working Conditions:


  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or transport patients in wheelchair
  • Must be able to assist in patient transfer
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical and office job
