Responsibilities

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Greet arriving guests and ensure check-in procedures are completed satisfactorily.
  • Facilitate departures by closing guest accounts using proper methods.
  • Calculate and post charges and credit transactions accurately.
  • Answer inquiries and accept reservations both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintain good guest relations by being informed about in-house and area functions.
  • Operate PBX equipment for effective service communication.
  • Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk.
  • Process guest mail, messages, and faxes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Enhance departmental communication through established sources.
  • Assist other team members and departments as needed.

Job description

Hotel Emblem San Francisco is looking for an outstanding Guest Service Representative to join the team! Our Guest Service Representatives are hands‑on, team‑oriented professionals with high standards and are driven to exceed our guests' expectations on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Greet arriving guests and complete established check‑in procedures to ensure guests are fully satisfied.
  • Facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to close guest accounts and determine future room availability.
  • Calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods and established procedures to present accurate hotel charges upon check‑out.
  • Answer inquiries and accept reservations, both in person and over the phone, using Company reservation guidelines; communicate rates and information, utilize suggestive selling, and create value for guests.
  • Maintain good guest relations by staying informed about all in‑house and area functions to answer questions with timely, knowledgeable responses in person and over the phone.
  • Operate the PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, setting wake‑up calls, and communicating with guests for efficient service.
  • Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk and maintain complete responsibility for the personal bank as specified by hotel policy.
  • Process all guest mail, messages, and faxes by receiving, sorting, notifying, and distributing to mailboxes and guests to ensure timely delivery.
  • Contribute to and maintain established communication sources such as department and front‑desk logbooks to enhance departmental communication and operations.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Pay Range

$29.00 – $31.00 per hour
