Job summary

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is seeking an Interdepartmental Associate (Part-Time) to greet guests, assist with admissions and gift purchases, and support multiple departments with special projects. The role emphasizes friendly, professional service in the gift shop and admissions areas.

The position requires flexible availability including weekends and evenings, strong communication skills, basic computer use, and a willingness to obtain RAMP and Food Safety Handler certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Exceptional guest service and communication skills.
• Cashier experience and basic computer use.
• Willing to obtain RAMP and Food Safety Handler certifications within 30 days (costs covered).

Responsibilities

• Assist departments throughout Phipps, including Guest Services and Events, with special projects and seasonal needs.
• Greet guests, provide information, and process admissions and sales.
• Help customers with gift purchases.
• Open/close the register and balance the drawer when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of admissions and gift shop areas.
• Handle guest questions, complaints, and phone inquiries.
• Support Café operations as needed.
• Train new part-time Guest Service Associates.
• Provide updates about Conservatory events to staff and guests.
