Job summary

Virginia Guesthouse within Pyramid Global Hospitality opens in April 2026 as a 214‑room hotel with 25,000 sq ft of conference space on the Grounds of the University of Virginia. A welcoming, guest‑centered team is being built to learn, grow, and make an impact in a people‑first environment.

As a front desk associate, you will check in guests, ensure correct room type and rate, arrange luggage delivery, and assist with check-out while maintaining hospitality and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • At least one year in a customer service role with high guest interaction.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to solve problems when they arise.
  • An outgoing and engaging personality.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Check in guest in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.
  • Assure that guest is assigned type of room requested and the correct rate is charged.
  • Arrange for luggage to be delivered to guest room and issues correct keys to the guest.
  • Check out guest at end of stay and ascertain guest satisfaction.
  • Collect keys, posts late charges and presents bill upon check out Settle bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
  • Maintain a balanced bank assigned by the hotel.
  • Email the guest regarding any late charges processed to their account after their check‑out (when proper email is available).
  • Make change, cashes checks, exchanges foreign currency.
  • Reconcile all transactions at the close of each shift and to cash out.
  • Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.

Compensation: $19.00 - $19.00
