Job summary

The Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an Hotel Maintenance Engineer I for an evening shift. You will maintain and repair guest rooms to ensure safety, functionality and a top-tier guest experience, while upholding cleanliness and hospitality standards.

Responsibilities include quick response to room service requests, coordinating with Housekeeping, and performing basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school or technical training preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance or hospitality engineering is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all guest rooms per standards and preventive maintenance guidelines.
• Respond to guest room service requests within 15 minutes and provide updates.
• Greet guests professionally and confirm convenient times to complete work.
• Keep work areas clean, coordinate with Housekeeping, and store tools after use.
• Maintain HVAC filters, lighting, fixtures, appliances, and basic room systems.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain daily work logs and service request records.
• Keep PM carts stocked with tools, parts, and materials.
• Communicate completion of work orders with dispatch or team members.
• Follow safety procedures and complete required trainings.
• Support emergency response procedures as needed.
• Provide lateral service and assist other departments as required.
