Job summary

Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Beavercreek, Ohio, seeks a housekeeping associate to clean guest rooms and common areas, uphold cleanliness standards, report maintenance needs, and respond to guest requests with professionalism.

You will transport supplies, replace linens and amenities, perform dusting, vacuuming, and disinfect surfaces, and ensure security of room keys while delivering friendly, guest-focused service. This is an on-site role with opportunities to cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on schedule, in proper uniform with nametag.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals per OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Clean guest rooms as assigned in order of priority.
• Transport cart with cleaning supplies to assigned guest room and position securely.
• Empty trash containers and ashtrays.
• Replace dirty linens and amenities with clean ones.
• Remove soil and soap build-up from bathroom surfaces and mirrors.
• Restock facial tissue and bathroom amenities.
• Make beds with clean linen.
• Dust and polish all furniture; realign furniture to floor plan.
• Check under beds and furniture for debris; remove as needed.
• Inspect furniture for damages and report to supervisor.
• Dust upholstery, pictures, frames and mirrors; clean TVs and electronics.
• Set clocks to correct time; ensure lamps and switches work.
• Dust windows, ledges and frames; clean telephones and refrigerators as needed.
• Dust drapes and adjust position daily; inspect plants for debris.
• Inspect entrance doors for cleanliness and safety signage; maintain fire safety materials.
• Dust and clean A/C units, vents, grids and thermostats per seasonal instructions.
• Dust baseboards, ledges and corners; vacuum carpets.
• Spray room with deodorizer; update status on the assignment sheet.
• Return and restock cart at end of shift; empty vacuum bag and wipe cleaner.
• Ensure security of assigned guest room keys; handle guest complaints per procedures.
• Be friendly and helpful with guests and co-workers; cross-train as needed.
