Job summary

Onni Properties (Chicago) Inc is seeking a Room Attendant to maintain cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators, stairwells and all assigned areas. You will complete special projects and ensure hygiene and tidiness throughout the property.

You will anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, protect guest confidentiality and work as part of a team with minimal supervision. Salary is $22.50 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Be familiar with all services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Transport cart with cleaning supplies, guest room amenities and linens to assigned guest room and position securely.
• Provide cleaning service to designated rooms on assignment sheet: Empty trash containers and ashtrays; Remove all dirty terry and replace with clean par to designated layout; Replace soiled bed sheets and make bed with clean linen; Clean Kitchen; Set lighting and thermostat to designated levels; Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor; Replace facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location; Clean guest rooms as assigned; Update status of rooms cleaned and turned down on assignment sheet/ in the system; Return and restock cart at end of shift; Empty vacuum bag and wipe vacuum clean; Ensure security of any assigned guest room keys; Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor; Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to the Manager; Make up cribs and rollaway beds; Re-hang/refold clothes; Other duties as assigned.
