General Summary

Provides premier customer service by greeting and screening guests, offering information, wayfinding, or assistance according to WellSpan Health System policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively greets all guests to create an inclusive and welcoming environment.
  • Assesses guest needs, performs screening or provides information, directions, transportation, or escort services as requested and per policies.
  • Listens attentively and respects guest needs and wishes, treating all with dignity and respect.
  • Uses knowledge of computer systems (Epic) to enter and retrieve data accurately.
  • Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and provides routine information. Assists with patient rooming and provides patient lists to community spiritual leaders.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in all communications.
  • Monitors the area for safety, security, cleanliness, and notifies appropriate personnel of issues.
  • Acts as a liaison among patient families, clinical staff, and physicians to facilitate information flow.
  • Conducts COVID-19 specimen collection as outlined, including explaining the process, supervising self-swabbing, securing specimens, and entering data. PPE must be worn during this process.

Common Expectations:

  • Supports various departments as needed.
  • Attends educational sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience required
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Basic computer skills required
