Qualifications

• Servers must consistently meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without detracting from the dining experience.
• Servers must clearly communicate professionally with guests, vendors, coworkers and management.
• A server must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers to maintain a positive team environment.
• Must understand products and services and meet sales goals.
• Servers must perform physical activities including standing for long periods and carrying trays.
• Must recognize problems and resolve them with good judgement and initiative.
• Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives.
• Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills.
• Must speak and write with excellent command of English.
• Must be flexible to work overtime and assist the workload of others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables for meals with complete setup of linens, silverware and glassware.
• Perform light food prep including bread, salad, appetizers and dessert presentation.
• Greet guests and educate about menus, ingredients, and cooking methods.
• Inform guests of daily specials.
• Check quality and presentation before serving.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Prepare and serve specialty dishes tableside as needed.
• Check IDs for alcohol service.
• Provide wine recommendations and proper corkage/pouring.
• Receive guest payments and process transactions.
• Clear and clean tables promptly following sanitation standards.
• Complete side duties like polishing silverware and restocking condiments.
