Job summary

Energy Services Group in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Server Assistant who helps welcome guests, seats guests using the Table Management System, and supports the service team to ensure guests leave happy.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, maintaining a clean front lobby and server stand, answering questions, handling takeout orders, and complying with food handling regulations while joining a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to provide friendly guest service.
• Understand and follow proper food handling and serving techniques and regulations.
• Capable of cash handling, and processing transactions per policies.
• Able to operate a computer, calculator and phone.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures for using the TMS to manage guest seating and wait lists.
• Maintain a welcoming, friendly attitude and support teamwork.
• Greet guests, seat them via TMS, and manage waits politely.
• Inform guests about current features and promotions; suggest menu items.
• Address guest concerns and inform the Manager as needed.
• Assist team by delivering food/drinks, pre-bussing, and refills when possible.
• Set up and maintain the server assistant stand and lobby area.
• Answer phones and address guest questions courteously.
• Deliver correct drinks and food, as needed.
• Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times.
• Bag and manage takeout orders; check orders for accuracy.
• Ensure guests receive a friendly farewell and solicit feedback.
• Monitor tables; manage clean/dirty/empty tables and reset as needed.
• Accommodate guest requests such as refilling beverages and providing utensils.
• Maintain cleanliness around tables; perform other duties as assigned.
