Job summary

Ascent Hospitality in Hammond, Indiana seeks a friendly Laundry Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and care of guest room linen and related textiles. You will coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure linen pars are met and deliveries are accurate across guest floors.

This role requires basic English, the ability to lift moderate loads, and a willingness to work flexible shifts as part of a cooperative team delivering excellent guest service and supporting overall hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to understand, read, write and speak basic English.
• Must be able to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receives soiled linens from laundry chutes and carts.
• Sort, wash, dry, fold dirty linen and terry and store clean linen.
• Coordinate and distribute all cleaned linen for housekeeping and F/B staff.
• Operate Laundry Equipment—Washer, Dryer, Iron and Board as needed.
• Stock all cleaned linen in appropriate areas.
• Maintain daily inventories of linen and terry.
• Replenish laundry supplies from storage.
• Keep department clean and organized.
• Maintain washers/dryers and clean lint trays.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Assist in other housekeeping areas as needed.
