Job summary

Cardenas Markets is seeking a reliable Cashier to provide friendly customer service and accurate cash handling in a fast-paced retail environment. The role emphasizes delivering excellent service while upholding the company’s values and standards.

You will walk customers through purchases, manage transactions, and help maintain store cleanliness and organization. Physical demands include standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 lbs; prior retail experience is desirable.

• Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers. Demonstrates care and compassion for people; shows empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relates well to diverse people; is approachable.
• Clearly communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety.
• Ensures that all goals as a Cashier are met in regards to Bottom of the Basket.
• Participates in training for Cashier training & follows policies to include WIC, Checks, Liquor, Tobacco.
• Follows procedures for voids, refunds, transaction cancellation and all saved recall transactions.
• Responsible for personal Cashier Productivity.
• Follows WIC Compliance procedures.
• Responsible for presentation of Front End, cleaning & organization -- uniform & personal appearance of self.
• Other store duties as needed.
• Demonstrates personal Customer Service excellence. Engages with customers always;
• Improves speed and efficiency of service provided.
