Job summary

Panera Bread in Madison, WI is seeking a Restaurant Team Member to be the welcoming heart of our bakery-cafe. You will greet guests, help assemble fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches, and support the team in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

You’ll maintain cleanliness and safety, adapt to daily priorities, and assist with various duties across production and service. Flexible hours, tips, meals, and benefits are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16+
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Clear communication in a loud environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making guests smile
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Basic food safety training (Food Handler's Card)
• Experience in food service is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Execute duties for specific areas within the bakery-cafe (Production, Prep, Service, Cashier, Expo, Drive-Thru, Barista, Guest Experience Champion, QC, etc.)
• Greet every guest with warmth and enthusiasm
• Assemble fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches with care and accuracy
• Assist guests at entry, cashier, and dining areas
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment per food safety standards
• Stay adaptable to daily priorities and changes
• Complete cleaning and stocking duties and help set up the next shift
